Before I share baby Parker’s birth story please know that no photos are ever shared without mom’s approval. 🙂 Birth is such an intimate and special moment and it’s truly an honor being a birth photographer. When I first met with Megan and Justin I knew that I would love to capture their baby’s birth story. When they decided to move forward and hire me, I was so excited!! Two weeks before Parker’s birth I was constantly checking my phone, while waiting for the big news. Finally, on Thursday May 4th at 8:25AM Megan called me to let me know that she was heading to The UW Medical Center Hospital in Seattle and that they will let me know when she gets admitted. I knew I would be on my way there that day. At 9:05AM I received a text message from Justin letting me know that they were admitted and that Megan was already 8 cm dilated, and I should probably make my way to the hospital. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten ready for anything as fast as I did that day. I was so nervous that I was going to miss Parker’s birth. Everything was happening so fast. Luckily, I got to the hospital just before Megan started to push and was there to capture one of the most amazing moments I’ve seen. Adorable baby Parker was born at 10:35 AM and I couldn’t have been happier to have had the opportunity to document that special moment. After a few hours at the hospital I went home for a bit and then returned back to photograph Parker’s older sister Avery meeting him for the very first time. I couldn’t believe how gentle and loving little Avery was around her new baby brother. This was such an amazing experience and I’m grateful that I had the chance to be a part of it.
