When my brother in-law came to visit us back in October we decided to hike the Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier National Park. The Skyline Trail starts out in Paradise Valley, an area on the south slope of Mount Rainier. It takes a bit over 2 hours to get to Paradise from Seattle. The Skyline Trail is a very popular hiking trail with breathtaking views of the park. It’s definitely my favorite hike we’ve done so far. The trail loop is 5.5 miles long and it took us a few hours to hike it. It was pretty difficult at times but the views were absolutely breathtaking. It was interesting to see how quickly the weather changes when you’re that high in the mountains. When we started hiking it was warm and sunny with only a few clouds, but once we got to the top, clouds and fog quickly came in and it started to rain. We were rushing to get down to lower elevation. Mount Rainier National Park is definitely a place we want to go back to in the spring. There are so many hiking trails to take and the views are just incredible.
