Those of you who follow me on Instagram or Facebook might already know that last month we moved to Seattle. It feels like only yesterday we sold our house in Milwaukee to move to Chicago and now here we are living in the Pacific Northwest. We had an amazing year in Chicago. We met lots of people and attended many networking events and really fell in love with the city. As we started to explore neighborhoods and looked for houses, hubby was recruited by a company in Seattle for a potential job opportunity. He decided to learn more about it and that lead to a job offer in Seattle. Making the decision to move to Seattle was not easy. We knew that we would love the Pacific Northwest but moving to a city where we don’t know anyone seemed scary. We also had to think about our business and what it would take to restart it in a brand new area where no one knows our name. Finally after lots of contemplating we decided to try it out for a couple of years. So last month we handed in keys to our old apartment and drove 2100 miles across the states to start a new journey in Seattle.
We left Chicago early Tuesday and arrived in Seattle late Thursday. We drove though Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Washington. Luckily our road trip was very smooth and traveling with our pets was so fun. At first I was a bit worried how our cat, Sparky, would behave on a three day road trip but she slept most of the time and didn’t complain much. She was such a good girl and I was very proud of her. We found pet friendly hotels along the way and stopped many times to enjoy the views. Below are a few photos from our road trip to Seattle. Stay tuned for a blog post about our first month in Seattle coming early next week.
