Last week we had a great opportunity to visit Minneapolis and since we had a free weekend, we decided to grab our doggy and take a road trip to Minnesota. This was our first time visiting Minneapolis so we didn’t know what to expect, but we were surprised how big and well taken of care the city is. During our stay we enjoyed walking around Downtown Minneapolis and exploring Fort Snelling State Park which is only 10 minutes drive from downtown. The park offers many hiking and biking trails, but its most notable feature is the Historic Ford Snelling. Ford Snelling was a military base build in 1820 and today visitors can take a tour and see what life was like back then.
Fort Snelling State Park is connected to the Minnehaha Park that features very large waterfalls. We enjoyed the park and the falls and were very surprised how close to the city they are.
Our doggy enjoying the view from our hotel room.
We had such a great trip and really look forward to our next Midwest park exploring adventure.
