We fell in love with San Francisco after visiting the city for the first time and were very excited to be able to go back and explore more of this amazing city during our extended stay in California (make sure to check out Part One and Part Two of our trip). This time we had a chance to explore even more of San Francisco and the surrounding areas.
Even though we already visited the Golden Gate Bridge, this was the first time we were able to see it clearly without any fog. It was an amazing sight.
As we were exploring the areas around the Golden Gate Bridge, we noticed cars driving up the hill next to the bridge and decided to check it out. At the top of the winding road, we found Hawk Hill and the view from the top was breathtaking. We saw the entire city and bay clearly with the Golden Gate Bridge in the foreground.
One of our favorite photos and sights was the Golden Gate Bridge from the bottom of Hawk Hill at night.
Japanese Garden at the Golden Gate Park.
Palace of Fine Arts.
We walked many miles in the city and saw many things that make San Francisco unique, like cable cars, steep streets, and this cute doggy just standing on a moving car.
Alamo Square.
Chinatown was a very colorful and busy part of town. Being there felt like we were in another country.
We just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit Napa Valley for a day trip. We were surrounded by vineyards and the smell of wine was in the air.
This is a quick shot of Los Gatos main street area where we stayed. We loved Los Gatos and loved being able to go hiking in the mountains near by.
We really loved California and we’re glad we were able to explore as much as we did. We wish we could share all the other sights we were able to see, but that would make for a long post. We would love to go back again. Stayed tuned for more photos from our road trip back home.
