A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit New York City. Since we haven’t taken a vacation in a while we packed our bags and joined our brother and father in law on a road trip to New York. The drive was long but as soon as we drove into Pennsylvania it made it all worth while. Driving though Pennsylvania I fell in love with the scenery and the Appalachian Mountains and I hope to vacation there sometime, when everything is nice and green
.

After a long day of driving we finally arrived in New York City late evening. Driving though the city was overwhelming. Our hotel was only a block from Times Square and we arrived there on St. Patrics Day, so you can imagine how crowded that area was. I felt like we were never going to get to our hotel’s parking garage. There was so many people everywhere, I still praise my husband for his driving skills. When we finally parked the car and checked into the hotel I felt at ease and couldn’t wait to explore New York City first thing in the morning, but this time on our feet without the car.
Day1. We woke up early, went out for breakfast and started exploring the city. Our first stop was Times Square. Since it was Sunday morning there weren’t many people on the streets yet, so we had a clear view of all of the gigantic colorful signs.

From Times Square we walked north to Central Park and spend a few hours walking around the park. Even though the trees were not yet green the park was full of life.

We walked half way though Central Park and then it was time to head to Rockefeller Center. Along the way we stopped at a hot dog stand to grab a quick bite.

Next we visited Grand Central Terminal. While there we stopped at the market and treated ourselves with a piece of cheesecake.

After a long day of sightseeing we walked back to our hotel, went out for dinner and then enjoyed Times Square at night.

Day2. Our second day in NYC started out with a tasty breakfast and then we headed south to visit the 9/11 Memorial. The memorial was an incredible place to see and we were so happy that we were able to see it.

We grabbed lunch at Burger Burger and then headed into the heart of Walls Street.

When we finished exploring Wall Street we walked down to Battery Park and hopped on the Staten Island Ferry to see the New York’s skylines and the Statue of Liberty.

Since this was our first time in New York and we were there for only a few days we made sure to visit the popular tourist attractions. We had an amazing time getting to know New York and enjoyed spending time in the city. I thought that New York is definitely a place to visit, but with all the traffic and crowds I was glad to be back home after a few days there. I hope you guys enjoyed our experience :).
